Questions to ask at a Board Interview

Recently I shared with you my board interview preparation tips, and promised that I would share some of the questions I like to ask during an interview for a board position.

From the research outlined in my previous post, you should feel that you have gained a broad understanding of the organisation and the industry it sits within. However, there are a number of questions that you should be asking as a potential director, and a number of things that you should ask based around your particular skill-set (those unique abilities, skills and knowledge you have and are likely why you would have been approached to join a board).

Again, feel free to download and print these out and use as a reference for when interviewing for a board position. Looking for more? In another post we share top five essential question to ask during a board interview.

It also goes without saying that company and industry research, along with board interviews, should form part of the due diligence process that you perform prior to accepting a board position (more on the due diligence process in this post).

I hope this helps in your board interview preparation, and makes you feel confident and be a stand out candidate.
