Mining GM Ready to Get on Board with Boardroom Bootcamp Scholarship
Maria Joyce, a general manager with MEC Mining has been announced as the inaugural recipient of the Boardroom Bootcamp scholarship through Get on Board Australia.
Mrs Joyce was successful in the national scholarship competition that received nearly 40 entries from outstanding, high-potential new and aspiring company directors and board members from around Australia.
Maria Joyce has spent her career in the mining sectors, and is now in a position that reports direct to the board. She is currently on maternity leave with twins and will soon be returning in an executive leader position, meaning she will be operating at a new level in the boardroom.
“I believe this is a fantastic program that will equip me with the tools and knowledge to be the most effective board member that I can be.” Said Mrs Joyce

Maria will undertake the June Boardroom Bootcamp course. Boardroom Bootcamp is an online course for new and aspiring company directors and board members. It provides a comprehensive introduction to the boardroom and understanding of what it means to be a company director. Enrolments are now being accepted for the June course beginning 3 June 2017.
