Board Shorts Podcast Episode Two

Increasing and Taking Advantage of Board Diversity

Welcome to episode two of Get on Board Australia’s new podcast series “board shorts”. It’s called board shorts because boards and governance can often be a dry topic and if we can’t communicate board and director related concepts and information to you in 30 minutes or less, than we’re not doing it right.

Most of the time you will get me hosting the podcast – I’m Lisa Cook, founder and managing director of Get on Board Australia – and sometimes I’ll have guests talking about their board experiences and expertise. Either way, we hope to make this podcast and the information we share accessible to new and aspiring company directors and board members.

Earlier in March we celebrated International Women’s Day so there has been a lot of conversation around women, and in our space, women in the boardroom. I believe that board diversity is something that we should strive to achieve. It makes for a much more interesting and rewarding board experience and improved outcomes for the organisation.

In episode two, I share some thoughts about how boards can go about increasing their diversity and also how aspiring board members can take advantage of the opening up of the boardroom. Listen to the podcast now below.
